'Course books are getting more sophisticated in terms of content and design. However, teachers often treat course book content as somehow sacrosanct and immutable. In this webinar, I will suggest ways to encourage students to change or add to the book content, particularly the reading material. Rather than see these changes as somehow disrespectful to the material, think of it as a way for the students to feel involved. In the end, it’s only a book. And it wasn’t written by Shakespeare. And even if it had been, I’m sure the old boy wouldn’t mind if you mucked about with it a bit.'
